NHPC Plans to Establish 1200 MW Solar Park Project in Uttar Pradesh with an Investment of Rs 797 Crore

According to state-owned NHPC, the proposed 1,200 MW solar power project in Uttar Pradesh, involving an investment of Rs 796.96 crore, is expected to be completed within two years, the company announced on Tuesday.

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the solar project virtually by laying its foundation stone. NHPC, in a filing with the stock exchange, revealed that its subsidiary, Bundelkhand Saur Urja Ltd, will spearhead the development of the Jalaun Ultra Renewable Energy Power Park in Orai, situated in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district, at an investment of Rs 796.96 crore. “The park is slated for completion within 24 months from the approval of investment and is anticipated to produce approximately 2,400 million units (MUs) of electricity annually,” NHPC stated. As a significant entity under the Ministry of Power, NHPC boasts being India’s premier hydropower development organization, capable of overseeing all phases from project conception to inauguration. Additionally, the Faridabad-headquartered company has expanded its operations to encompass solar and wind energy development.
