Private sector lender RBL Bank announced on Thursday the appointment of banking industry veteran Murali Ramakrishnan as an independent director on its board.
Ramakrishnan brings a wealth of experience to the role, having retired as the managing director and chief executive officer of South Indian Bank earlier this year. His tenure as independent director at RBL Bank begins immediately and will last for four years, according to the bank’s statement.
With a distinguished career spanning 37 years, Ramakrishnan has made significant contributions to the banking industry. Notably, he spent two decades at ICICI Bank, where he held various leadership positions and played a key role in the bank’s growth and expansion.
RBL Bank expressed confidence in Ramakrishnan’s expertise and leadership, emphasizing that his addition to the board will strengthen the bank’s governance and strategic direction.
The appointment of Ramakrishnan underscores RBL Bank’s commitment to enhancing its board’s diversity and experience as it seeks to navigate the evolving financial landscape.
