Record Highs: FIIs Inject Rs 2,778 Crore into Markets

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) and Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) emerged as net buyers on April 10, coinciding with the Nifty reaching an all-time high and the Sensex edging closer to a new peak.

Preliminary data from the stock exchanges indicates that FIIs made purchases totaling Rs 2,778.17 crore, while DIIs acquired shares worth Rs 163.36 crore.

During the session, FIIs bought shares worth Rs 13,344.95 crore and sold shares amounting to Rs 10,566.78 crore. Meanwhile, DIIs engaged in buying activities worth Rs 12,342.51 crore and selling activities worth Rs 12,179.15 crore.

This occurrence marks the second time in FY25 that FIIs have assumed the role of buyers, following their acquisition of shares worth Rs 1,659.27 crore on April 5. However, FIIs have offloaded shares worth Rs 2,335.46 crore so far this month.

In contrast, DIIs have made purchases totaling Rs 5,891.10 crore in April. They have been sellers on two occasions during this period.

April 10 saw a surge in market indices, propelled by notable gains in heavyweight and banking stocks. The Sensex concluded the day with an increase of 354.45 points, or 0.47 percent, settling at 75,038.15, while the Nifty rose by 111 points, or 0.49 percent, reaching 22,753.80.
